Tournament Rules
The German Pub Open follows a consistent qualifier-night format across all cities, with pub-floor etiquette and board procedure aligned before the opening draw.
Check-in and board calls
Players must be checked in 45 minutes before first board call. No-shows are scratched and the reserve list is moved in before warm-up closes.
Qualifier format
All city nights run as a straight 32-player knockout bracket. Round of 32 and Last 16 matches are best of 5 legs, quarterfinals and semifinals are best of 7 legs, and the final is best of 9 legs.
Match procedure
Home and away order is drawn at the board. Chalking duties rotate, callers are final on scoring corrections, and players are expected at the oche immediately after announcement.
Pub etiquette
Shirted or smart casual attire is standard. No outside alcohol, no practice darts once matches are live, and no disruption of adjacent boards during deciding legs.
Season Rankings
Rankings open up once qualifier nights are underway. Until then, the season page tracks the structure of the race to Berlin and the timing of public bracket releases.
Season structure
Eight city qualifiers feed one Grand Final field in Berlin. Each booked-out night is capped at 32 players and produces one direct finalist.
Finals qualification
Only qualifier winners advance automatically. Runner-up and reserve order are held internally until bracket release week.
Bracket publishing
Qualifier brackets remain hidden until venue confirmation is locked. Public bracket pages switch live shortly before each city night.
Reserve handling
Every qualifier keeps a local reserve list for late withdrawals, but reserve movement closes once first board call has been posted by the floor manager.
